Hungry for glory, Lieutenant Colonel Pierre Raspeguy is devastated when he is relieved of all command after leading his defeated French army out of Indochina. Offered the chance of a new command by a French Countess, Raspeguy enlists the help of two old war buddies in whipping a raw, untrained unit into shape.
