Comedy following three young chaps who stay at home during the First World War.
News arrives that the first Rittle man has died in battle, prompting Bert to make a move on his widow.
Cecil is suspicious when a pretty girl asks him out on a date, and George kicks Bert out after he crosses the line one too many times.
Cecil is convinced he's being systematically emasculated, while Bert becomes friendly with Winky when he takes a job as a substitute teacher.
George throws a dinner party and, much to Cecil's dismay, invites Miss Trimble, the local village leper. Guest starring Sally Phillips.
The trio finally have some other men to talk to when the soldiers return on leave. Last in the series.
