Eric Stoltz gets the bluebottle blues as Martin Brundle, the son of doomed scientist Seth who inherits the experimenting bug with similarly horrific results. Continuing his father's research into teleportation at the sinister Bartok Industries, Martin reveals all to his more cautious colleague Daphne Zuniga. But before she can say "metamorphosis", the world is faced with another raging insectoid abomination. It's a real buzz for horror fans and a magnificently yucky directing debut for Chris Walas, the special effects ace behind Gremlins.
