Celeste (Kim Basinger) is an alien who has come to Earth to find a way of saving her own planet from destruction. Recently widowed scientist Steve Mills (Dan Aykroyd) falls madly in love with her, and after marrying her wants nothing more than to settle down to domestic bliss.
