Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) is a thirty-two-year-old law school graduate living off a meager lawsuit award and lacking some serious career motivation. Sitting on his rear end, watching sports on TV and eating take-out with his favorite delivery guy (Rob Schneider) is the extent of Sonny's existence. The only problem is that Sonny's girlfriend Vanessa (Kristy Swanson) is about to drop him like a bad habit. In a misguided attempt to impress his soon-to-be ex, he adopts five-year-old Julian (Cole and Dylan Sprouse) under the pretense of being the boy's natural father. Faced with the challenges of sleep deprivation, bed-wetting and Barney, Sonny takes a hilariously unorthodox approach toward fatherhood.
