Los Angeles drag queen Rudy (Alan Cumming) and his closeted lawyer lover Paul (Garret Dillahunt) interrupt their romance to take care of a drug addict neighbour's abandoned, mentally-handicapped, teenage son. However, the loving environment they foster around the vulnerable boy is threatened by a biased legal system... and they are forced to fight to maintain custody.
